I opened Wednesday Bouquet as the newest, full service floral design studio in downtown Pagosa Springs, Colorado on November 1, 2023. The name of the shop grew from a way to connect during the pandemic. Every Wednesday, I would send a photo of my floral creations to friends and family. This early way to connect is the inspiration for my business.

This is a second career for me after 36 years as a healthcare professional in New Mexico at the University of NM and in private practice (Kirsten Bennett PhD, RDN, LD). My husband Phil and I have owned a home in Pagosa Springs since 2010. We have 3 adult children and 2 black Labradors (often at the shop).

I grew up on a Christmas tree farm in NW Missouri where floral design was a key part of the retail operation. Over the years floral design has been a hobby with the dream of one day becoming a florist. I completed my formal floral design training with the Floral Design Institute in Portland, Oregon. Following the required training and exam, I was awarded the Certified Floral Design (CFD) credential.

My design style focuses on unique, repurposed and upcycled materials while promoting sustainable and affordable floral design. Design mechanics use biodegradable or recyclable materials (no green floral foam).
